  1. Here are some helpful hints to overcome/avoid problems using MS.EM.

  4. 1)  If you try to boot the ORIGINAL DOS 3.20 DISK you might see a pink "BA"
  5.     appear on the screen. The ATARI cannot read the DOS MASTER diskette. 
  6.     In order to boot the system, you need to make a formatted diskette that
  7.     has the system on it. DO NOT USE DISKCOPY to make a backup! The disk made
  8.     by doing so will have the same problem as the DOS MASTER. You must
  9.     use the following:
  10.  
  11.     USERS WITH SINGLE SIDED DRIVES:
  12.       DOS 3.2 comes on a double sided diskete, and cannot be run directly.
  13.       To run DOS 3.2, you must format a SINGLE SIDED DOS DISK on an
  14.       IBM/LAPTOP/clone. Many IBM dealers don't use single sided systems
  15.       very often and might think DOS 3.2 doesn't support single sided drives.
  16.       Simply put the DOS disk in drive A, and the disk to be formatted in
  17.       drive B.  At the "A>" prompt, type
  18.       
  19.                       FORMAT B:/1/S
  20.  
  21.       This will format the disk in drive b SINGLE SIDED and put the
  22.       neccessary files needed to boot the system.

  25.     USERS WITH DOUBLE SIDED DISKS
  26.       Simply put the DOS disk in drive A, and the disk to be formatted in
  27.       drive B.  At the "A>" prompt, type
  28.       
  29.                       FORMAT B:/S
  30.  
  31.       This will format the disk in drive b DOUBLE SIDED and put the
  32.       neccesary files needed to boot the system.

  35. 2)  With MS.EM version 1.00 the following commands/devices do not work.
  36.     FORMAT,DISKCOPY,SELECT, and ansi.sys
  37.     
  38.     To update MS.EM to version 1.01 so that the above works, you must
  39.     run MSPATCH.PRG. It will be located in ATARI16 in UTILITY SECTION.
  40.     There will also be a documentation file and data file that must be 
  41.     used as well. The documentation file will be called MSPATCH.DOC.
  42.     The data file will be called MSPATCH.DAT.
  43.  
  44.     These programs should be available by 1/5/1987 (monday).
  45.  
  46. 3)  We have had many complaints about the copy protection. It seems that
  47.     there is not a copy program available that will make a useable backup disk.
  48.     We have addressed this problem in two ways:
  49.  
  50.         a) We have lowered the price of our backups to $4.00 (which covers
  51.            our cost for shipping and handling).
  52.  
  53.         b) MS.EM version 2.00 will contain two disks. One disk is to be used
  54.            as the original, and the second is the backup.

  58. 4)  MS.EM won't run my program.
  59.  
  60.       a) Contact us on Compuserve and ask if we have tested you particular
  61.          Program.
  62.   
  63.       b) You can also send us a backup or a demo of the program and we will
  64.         test it and find out why MS.EM does not support it. We will send
  65.         back the original and destroy any copies that we make. Every registered
  66.         owner that sends us a backup will receive a coupon good for $3.00 off
  67.         MS.EM. Version 2.00.

  69. 5) I have not received any information about updates.
